Bob Murray Housing with Love mini Walk

Harwich Ecumenical Council for the Homeless (HECH) and Chatham Ecumenical Council Helping prevent Homelessness (CECH) are teaming up to walk together again in an effort to raise funds in the annual Bob Murray Mini Housing with Love Walk. These funds allow both organizations to address the critical issue of affordable living on Cape Cod.

The Walk is planned for Thursday, July 11th, 2019, rain or shine! Walkers will depart from the Holy Redeemer Church on Highland Ave in Chatham at 9:00 AM and continue on the bike path to the First Congregational Church, 697 Main Street, Harwich Center, for lunch provided by HECH and CECH.

HECH has provided housing and childcare support to individuals and families on Cape Cod for over 25 years. Yet the waitlists for housing and preschool services continue to grow. Along with many more seeking home preservation, rental assistance and emergency funding, now more than ever we need support to further our mission and continue to change lives – one family, one person at a time.

CECH has helped over 1300 families avoid homelessness since its inception having raised and dispersed over $1.4 million to needy families. CECH awards grants to clients who apply through the Homeless Prevention Council in Orleans, often to individuals and families who are assisted by St. Vincent DePaul and Lower Cape Outreach.
